KYC compliance is required before renting Indian phone numbers. This guide covers the documents, application process, and post-approval steps.
India Data Region Required: Indian phone numbers are only available to India data region accounts. If you have a US data region account, you cannot rent Indian numbers. Data region cannot be changed after account creation — you’ll need to create a new India data region account.
KYC Documents Required
| Document | Description |
|---|
| Business registration certificate | Certificate of Incorporation (COI) from MCA or Udyam Registration Certificate from MSME |
| GST Certificate | Goods and Services Tax registration certificate |
Both documents are mandatory. Your application will be rejected if either document is missing.
Business Registration Certificate Requirements
Your business registration certificate must meet these requirements:
If submitting a Certificate of Incorporation (COI):
| Requirement | Details |
|---|
| Issuing Authority | Must be issued by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) |
| CIN Number | Must include the Corporate Identification Number (CIN) |
| Company Name | Must match exactly with the name on your GST certificate |
If submitting an Udyam Registration Certificate:
| Requirement | Details |
|---|
| Issuing Authority | Must be issued by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) |
| Udyam Registration Number | Must include a valid Udyam Registration Number |
| Enterprise Name | Must match exactly with the name on your GST certificate |
Common rejection reasons:
- Submitting only one document (both business registration and GST are required)

- Business name mismatch between registration certificate and GST certificate
